Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how TitanCart ("TitanCart," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our websites — titancart.io, market.titancart.io, and help.titancart.io (the "Services") — and when you purchase or use TitanCart software products (the "Products"). It applies to our Services only; it does not apply to stores that other people run using TitanCart software (see "Self-Hosted Software" below).
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form) when you register an account.
- Order and billing information: the details needed to process your purchase, such as your name, email address, billing details, and the Products you bought.
- Support communications: messages you send us through contact forms, email, or the help site.
Information collected automatically
- License and update data: when a Product with a license key checks for updates or activates, we receive the license key, Product and version information, and the domain of the site the key is used on. We use this to deliver updates and verify entitlements.
- Technical log data: standard server logs such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps, used for security and to keep the Services running.
2. Payments
Payments on market.titancart.io are processed by Stripe. Your card details are transmitted directly to Stripe; we never receive or store your full card number. We receive from Stripe only what we need to fulfill your order, such as confirmation of payment and the last digits and brand of the card used. Stripe's handling of your information is described in Stripe's own privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- create and manage your account;
- process orders, issue license keys, and deliver downloads and updates;
- provide customer support;
- send transactional email such as receipts, license information, and renewal notices;
- send product news or marketing email only where you have opted in — every such email includes an unsubscribe link;
- protect the Services against fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising.
4. Cookies
The Services use essential cookies — the kind required for the site to function, such as keeping you logged in, remembering your cart during checkout, and securing forms. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the Services (such as login and checkout) from working.
5. reCAPTCHA
We may use Google reCAPTCHA on forms such as login and registration to protect the Services from automated abuse. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information and sends it to Google for analysis. Its use is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
6. Service Providers
We share information with a small number of service providers who process it on our behalf and only as needed to run the Services — for example, Stripe for payment processing, our hosting provider for running the websites, and our email provider for delivering transactional messages. These providers are bound to use the information only to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
7. Self-Hosted Software
TitanCart Products are self-hosted: they run on websites operated by our customers, not by us. If you are a shopper on a store that uses TitanCart software, that store's owner is the controller of your data — their privacy policy applies, and we do not have access to that store's customer data. This Policy covers only the data we collect through our own Services as described above.
8. Data Retention
We keep account, order, and license records for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, and afterwards as required for legitimate business purposes such as tax, accounting, and legal compliance. Server logs are retained for a limited period for security purposes. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed password storage, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — please use a strong, unique password for your account.
10. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information — such as the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of it, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Regardless of location, you can:
- update your account information from your account settings;
- unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any such email;
- request access to or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at support@titancart.io.
We will respond to requests as required by applicable law. Note that we may need to retain certain records (such as completed order records) to meet legal obligations even after a deletion request.
11. Children
The Services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. International Visitors
The Services are operated from the United States, and information we collect is processed and stored in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where data-protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above, and for material changes we will take reasonable steps to notify you (such as email or a notice on the Services).
